Todos los años son miles los fieles que se acercan hasta la iglesia ubicada en el barrio de Liniers, en Buenos Aires, para venerar la imagen de San Cayetano, patrono del trabajo. Muchos van con la necesidad de pedirle trabajo, pero también son cientos los que se acercan para agradecerle al santo que les haya ayudado a conseguir el tan ansiado empleo en años anteriores. Las colas que se forman son interminables y hay quienes comienzan a hacerlas semanas y hasta meses antes con el fin de poder ver primero al santo. Unos días antes al 7 de agosto (día de la celebración) se forman verdaderos campamentos alrededor de la iglesia. En el año 2000 cuando fueron tomadas estas fotografías pasaron por el templo más de un millón de personas. Este trabajo intenta reflejar la profunda fe que profesa el pueblo argentino por San Cayetano.

Every year, thousands of faithful go to a church located in the Liniers neighbourhood, in Buenos Aires, to venerate the image of Saint Cayenato, patron saint of work. Many people go with the need of asking for a job, but hundreds go in order to thank the saint for having helped them get the so-wanted job in previous years. The qeues are endless and some people start qeueing weeks and even months before the celebration, in order to see the saint before the rest of the people. Some days before August 7th. (the celebration day) many camps arise in the area surrounding the church. In the year 2000, when I took these pictures, more than a million people visited the church. This work tries to reflect the deep faith the Argentine people profess for Saint Cayetano.
